There is a jazz player, standing outside my door,
he plays a saxophone, soft and melancholy.
The street lamp is glowing atop his form,
the cold concrete below him, rests his shadow.

There is a jazz player, playing for the night creatures,
they come and stare at his moving fingers, caressing the brass instrument.
I watch him from my window, head on my soft small hands.

There is a jazz player, leaning on a pole,
shoulders relaxed, he keeps on playing.
He doesn't seem to notice me, he just keeps playing his night song.
Lulling me to internal sleep, I flutter my eyes to a close.

A Reason to LiveIf only she had the guts to actually do it, to just leap among the cold waves and sink in death among the fish. She breathed in the smell and taste of saltwater, and water sprays hit her face, neck, and chest. She shivered slightly in the breeze from the waves, but she wasn’t really bothered by the chill. What weighed on her mind was something much deeper than the weather.
